Vampire books live on...

Check out the latest post about what makes vampire books so popular over at http://vampire-books.blogspot.com/2011/05/vampire-books-are-not-dead.html

It makes some good points. It may describe what keeps the craze going strong, and if you're one of its fans, it may explain why you love them.

...or is it just the Kindle price drop that made the difference? You decide.

Vampire Books

What's so great about vampire books, anyway? Here's my list:
  1. They're entertaining to read because they have danger and suspense.
  2. They explore the idea of being incredibly powerful (who doesn't want that?).
  3. Despite super powers of some kind, there are still other dangers to face, including other vampires.
  4. The new breed of vampire books spawned by Twilight contain other enjoyable themes like romance and identity.
  5. We identify with the main characters who face danger with courage, and in doing so, we change and grow by experiencing their challenges alongside them.

This Vampire

You can get to lots of places associated with This. A Vampire Cure for Forever using "thisvampire."

For example, there's ThisVampire.com, the new main site for the book that's nearly complete. You can quickly find it on Amazon with amzn.to/thisvampire. And it seems like I found another one yesterday...but I forgot.

Anyway, a few good reviews have been posted to amazon and everything looks promising. Right now the key is to get this news out to as many readers as possible and let the enthusiasm snowball from there. Thanks for helping spread the word!

Would YOU like to be a vampire?

Let me clarify something first - that's not an invitation. If you answer yes, I won't show up in your room in the middle of the night and suck on your neck so you can live forever. I'm sorry if this news comes as a disappointment.

But seriously, would you WANT to be one?

I know it sounds sexy. Stay young forever. Have awesome powers like strength, speed, and the ability to read minds. Plus the whole biting people's neck thing.

It also sounds kind of gross. Do you really have to drink blood all the time?

Those questions are only the beginning.

And they're questions that Dawn must answer in order to make her decision...unless someone else makes it for her.

Maybe you think I've given away the whole story - not even close! That's only about 2% of the plot. There are way cooler questions and conflicts going on throughout the whole book.

My point is...before you take the plunge (as in, let a vampire's fangs plunge into your neck), read this book to weigh the pros and cons carefully. Also compare yourself to the characters and figure out which way YOU would handle such power and the dilemmas that come with it.

New Vampire Book coming soon!

So you love to read about teen vampires? Well you're going to LOVE this one. Why? I'll tell you:
  • Good characters. These are teens you'll identify with and admire. They have strengths and weaknesses like anybody else, and you've got four major characters to choose from. One is bound to be your favorite. We'll introduce you later.
  • Good plot. It keeps the reading skipping right along, it's as plausible/realistic as you'll get considering the book is about vampires, there are surprises, there's just the right amount of tension - enough to make it so you CAN'T WAIT to find out what happens next, but not enough to give you a heart attack or make you nauseous.
  • Good writing. The author has a Master's degree in writing and has taught college writing for over ten years. He wrote a writing textbook. Readers of his other books have tons of good things to say about them. This book is just the same. The action pops right off the page.
  • Good ideas. Oh, yes, this book will both make you think and do the thinking for you. In other words, you'll be exposed to some pretty profound/interesting ideas like "What would you do with eternity?" and "How would you handle extreme power?" and then it walks you through several answers as each character responds differently.
Mostly, you'll really enjoy reading it. Mostly, you'll say it's really well written. Mostly, it will change your life for the better in some small way. (At least one of those statements will be true for you.)

So hang tight, we'll get you more details very soon.
